The country is home to more than 2 million people who use makeup to enhance their appearance, but the makeup industry is booming.
The Canadian Association of Beauty Consultants has counted more than $600 million in sales of fiber optics, diy fiber optics and cosmetics in the past year alone.
“The makeup industry has been very successful for a long time, and it is really driven by a very niche audience of people who have been looking for an easy way to have some natural glow without any makeup,” said Laura Kastel, executive director of the Canadian Association for Beauty Consultations.
Kastel said consumers want natural, light-weight cosmetics that look natural and do not require makeup or expensive makeup products.
“There are people who don’t like makeup because they don’t want to pay for it, and they don.
We want to bring them the natural look they are looking for,” she said.
There are a lot of different types of products that are sold to the cosmetic industry in Canada, and some of the best ones are called fibre optics, said Kastels.
“Fiber optics is a little bit of a misnomer.
Fiber optics is really a light, water-soluble fiber that’s woven into a polymer and then it can be coated on.
It’s really a very flexible, lightweight, water and air-based material,” she explained.”
It can be used for a number of things and also for skin, for hair and hair products, for makeup.
So it’s a lot different than it looks.”
For many, the beauty of fiber optic products is that they don toot their own horns, said Kylie Cramton, the director of marketing at beauty brand Beauty Shop, which sells products including Fiber Optic Makeup.
“Most of the fiber optics are very, very expensive, and that’s because they’re used for the hair products,” she told CBC News.
“They’re the ones that are designed to last, and the reason they are used is because they have to be in the water and in the air and they have a low molecular weight,” said Cramston.
Cramton said that while fiber optics have a lot to offer, some of their products are actually very expensive and hard to find.
“When you see a product that is called a gel, you can tell that it’s more expensive, because it’s made from a high-end product,” she added.
“You see that gel that is $50 on Amazon or somewhere, and I’m talking about a $50 gel.”
In the U.S., the cosmetic world is not only in the spotlight, but also a growing segment of the industry.
According to the National Foundation for Cosmetic Research, in 2017, more than one million people were registered as consumers of cosmetic products, including cosmetic fiber optics.
While some companies are making their money selling high-quality products that don’t require a lot or expensive ingredients, others are making a big profit by charging more for the same product.
According to the industry trade group, the Association of Cosmetics and Dermatologists, in 2016, the top 20 cosmetics companies earned $4.7 billion from direct sales of cosmetic fiber optic and fiber optics products, and about $6 billion from sales of diy fibers and cosmetics.
“We’re seeing a lot more products that come out of niche markets,” said Susan Crampton, president and CEO of the association.
Crimpton said the industry has become more sophisticated as the years have gone by, and she believes it will continue to grow.
“I think that if you look at the demographics, you see that there is a lot younger people, women and minorities, and these are the groups that are going to be looking for these products,” said Kestel.
“So, it is a niche industry, but we have seen a lot growth and we have also seen a tremendous number of consumers that are buying these products and really wanting to know more about what they’re buying.”
