TOR Network will soon be upgraded to support terranets fiber optic network and its operators are looking to extend its reach to other areas of the world.TOR announced in December that it had started the process of upgrading its network to terrannet fiber optics and was aiming to deploy the upgrades in the next few weeks.TOR has been in the spotlight recently because of the recent hacks and attacks on the network, with a number of websites targeted by cybercriminals.
TOR said it has seen a 20 percent increase in the number of phishing emails it receives.”TOR is excited to announce we will soon begin the next phase of our upgrade.
As part of this upgrade, TOR will be upgrading its core TOR infrastructure to terra-fiber fiber optics in order to support the new fiber optic networks being built around the world,” the company said.TOR also announced that it would also be investing $5 million in new equipment.
TOR, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world, has been facing criticism in the past for its lack of transparency over the rollout of its network, as well as the fact that it is not fully transparent about the costs of the upgrade process.
The TOR Network has been operating since November 2018 and has around 1,400 nodes in over 20 countries around the globe.
The network was launched to provide privacy and anonymity to the global population and is designed to work with existing and emerging protocols.
The network is designed for use in areas with a high concentration of Tor nodes.
It will be the first TOR network to be deployed on the planet to support fiber optics.
TOR is not the only cryptocurrency exchange to make the upgrade.
Ripple and Litecoin have also announced plans to upgrade their networks.
In an interview with CoinDesk, Tor co-founder Max Keiser said that the company is in a “critical” position with its network and that the upgrade is a “game changer” for TOR.
Tor announced the upgrade on Dec. 11 and has been making the upgrades to its network since.
TOR’s announcement follows similar announcements from other cryptocurrency exchanges including Bittrex, Poloniex and Polonix.
Bitcoin exchange BTCC announced last month that it will be deploying terranium fiber optics to help its customers move their funds across its network.
